The battle between AMD & Intel is heating up! 

AMD have finally revealed that it will be launching their first three Ryzen processors on 2nd March and also have revealed the pricing of the three processors, the new processors are 54% cheaper and perform better than Intel processors. AMD unveiled the true power compared to Intel’s Core i7 and have stated that the Ryzen 7 chips will offer more for less.  AMD is rolling out its fastest and premium Ryzen 7 chips first, including the Ryzen 7 1800X, the Ryzen 7 1700X  and Ryzen 7 1700.  AMD have also stated they plan to reveal their midrange and cheapest Ryzen chips Ryzen 5 and the Ryzen 3 later this year.

Ryzen 7 1800X

Price: $499 ( R6,500)
Launch: 2nd March 2017
The Ryzen 7 1800X consumes up to 95 watts with 8 cores and 16 threads with a base clock of 3.6GHz that can boost to 4GHz. The 1800X outperforms the direct competitor the Intel Core i7-6900K by 9%, recording a score of 1,601 on Cinebench benchmark.

Ryzen 7 1700X

Price: $399 ( R5,200)
Launch: 2nd March 2017
The Ryzen 7 1700X consumes up to 95 watts and runs with 8 cores and 16 threads with a base clock of 3.4GHz that can boost to 3.8GHz. The 1700X scored 1,537, 4 and outperforms their direct competitor by 4% as the Intel Core i7 6900K scored 1,474 on the multicore Cinebench benchmark.

The Ryzen 7 1700 consumes up to 65 watts and runs with 8 cores and 16 threads with a base clock of 3GHz that can boost to 3.7GHz. According to AMD it recorded a score of 1,410 on the multicore Cinebench test which is 46% better than Intel’s Core i7 7700K, which recorded 967.
