Gamers brought together by Halo, Food, and Cross-platform Fun
When we completed the review for Halo Wars 2, the one thing that we thought was missing was a launch event. Well, the best way for Microsoft SA to celebrate their great game is to have the experience at the Nexus Gaming Hub located in Randburg, Johannesburg and moved it to Friday, 24 February 2017. The Halo Wars 2 event had a few local YouTubers, bloggers and media that had a chance to review the game on both Windows PC and Xbox One. The area was stocked with great food, beverages and one of the best tasting Coffee Milkshakes I have ever had, well done to the Kitchen :). The main playing area on the upper floor had six PCs and six Xbox Ones for both professionals and noobs to take on the latest in the Halo Wars series.
Microsoft Mini Halo Wars 2 Tournament
During the night, around 8 pm the Nexus held a mini-competition on both PC and Xbox One versions. Teams of three had to compete for vouchers to the value of R800 thanks to Nexus. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the PC experience was halted and the PC teams had to compete on the Xbox One. Yes, I know a little awkward, but a team had to win to get those awesome vouchers and Team Geek Vulture successfully defeated all the other teams to claim victory! Well done to Microsoft SA and Nexus for putting on a great event.
Stay tuned to GameNationSA for more event coverage and interviews.
