Rocket League could be getting a Nintendo Switch version

Rocket League Nintendo Switch

Psyonix Is Switching Gears

Earlier today Psyonix Vice President Jeremy Dunham spoke to IGN,  he told them that they are considering bringing Rocket League to the Nintendo Switch but it depends on the demand from current and future Switch owners. Jeremy also stated they need to go through any technical limitations the Switch might have. Psyonix’s Rocket League is very much a community game and with the Splatoon 2 test fire last week on the Nintendo Switch, the Rocket League community could easily make it to the Switch.

WHAT JEREMY DUNHAM HAD TO SAY:
“Just like all the other platforms, we are evaluating it. We’re looking to see what the technical requirements are,” Dunham said. “We’re looking to see what kind of true community demand there is. We’re looking to see how it would benefit the community as a whole. So we’re still in that evaluation phase. It’s definitely too early to say that it wouldn’t happen, but it’s also definitely too early to say that it would.”

Rocket League first released for PS4 and PC in July 2015, then last year on Xbox One in February 2016. Psyonix has stated it will continue to support the game with frequent free and paid updates. The most recent update is the Dropshot mode as can be seen below, they launch it for free last week.
