SuperSport previously covered eSports but on a smaller scale, it was exactly a year ago this week when SuperSport covered the re-broadcast of the IEM World Championship from Poland. You can view the eSports debut here – > eSports debuts on SuperSport

SuperSport has suggested that the GINX channel is to be developed to draw in gamers who aren’t DStv subscribers as well. SuperSport CEO Gideon Khobane said they were “just dipping their toes in the water” previously, and he is aware they are competing squarely in the domain of the Internet. He also revealed that GINX will be integrated into DStv’s existing online services.

Broadcasts will be available for live streaming over DStv Now and all the highlights will be made available on the DStv Catch Up service.
